The STL file preserves the model surface as triangles. Colors, materials, textures, print settings, object names, and some details from the 3MF file may be lost because STL stores the model shape only.

07 Conversion limits
STL stores only the surface of a 3D model as triangles. During 3MF to STL conversion, the visible shape is exported, but details beyond the shape may not appear in the final STL file.
Colors, materials, textures, thumbnails, object names, printer instructions, slicer settings, and model details are outside the normal STL format. If your 3MF contains several parts, use the separate ZIP export when you want individual STL files instead of one merged model.
